Gustavo Eme

My proposal seeks to generate environments for dialogue and catharsis between people. I try to rise it from the line: the most immediate, primary and easy to externalize. This is how my drives, interests, obsessions and traumas appear. The accelerated, alienated and precarious life I live as an art worker in Lima: a capital that intermingles the idiosyncrasies of millions of people, mostly descendants of migrants or with migratory projects. The line - be it a constituent element of graphisms of greater or lesser complexity, inscribed on the most diverse supports, manipulating language and its meanings, symbolized through objects such as horsehair, cables or ropes - is in its absolute plasticity the ideal vehicle to externalize interiority and thus generate these environments. Environments where in interaction with mobile structures and the manipulation of the resources of the place such as lighting, sound, smells, materials, textures and the space itself, I move from subconscious expression to premeditated intention in symbolic operations with which I intend to enrich these people.
